R-Series frames have earned their reputation over more than a decade of production, which means plenty of riders are still putting miles on R3s and R5s from the mid-2000s. Frames that old eventually need replacement parts, and the Cervelo R-Series Seatpost Clamp keeps those bikes running with OEM hardware rather than generic aftermarket substitutes. Cervelo manufactures frame-specific clamps because seat tube tolerances and clamping geometry vary across model years, and a clamp that doesn't match risks either insufficient grip or frame damage.
The SPC-30.0-R-2007 version fits R-Series frames from 2005 through 2010, which used a 30mm clamp diameter around the seat tube extension. Cervelo forges these clamps from aluminum rather than stamping or casting them, producing a stronger part with cleaner surfaces that won't mar your frame's finish during installation. A stainless steel hex bolt threads through the clamp and draws it tight against the seat tube. If you're replacing a damaged or lost clamp, compare your original to verify the correct version before ordering. Cervelo changed clamp designs between the 2005-2010 and 2011+ generations, and the two aren't interchangeable. The earlier frames used larger diameter seatposts while later R-Series bikes moved to standard 27.2mm posts with different clamp geometry.
