Robust. Intuitive. Consistent. - is the motto for the new XTR M9200 groupset. With it, Shimano and the bike community are celebrating the rebirth of Di2 technology on their top model. And at the very highest level. Thanks to contemporary wireless control, perfect functionality, a 12-speed drivetrain and the usual outstanding build quality, you'll be rushing from victory to victory and giving the competition a run for their money.
The performance of the XTR brakes will also impress you once again. The powerful M9220 Enduro version in particular leaves nothing to be desired in terms of deceleration.
The new design catches the eye at first glance. The oil reservoir parallel to the handlebars and the new cable outlet ensure a clean and tidy look. The small contact point near the grip suppresses any possible twisting and thus creates a much more direct and sensitive braking feel. However, you will be impressed above all by the inner values. The pivot point is closer to the handlebars, which is why the path of the brake lever follows the arc of the finger more effectively. Together with the lever being bent upwards by 5degree, a much more comfortable ergonomic position has been created. Of course, the grip width can still be individually adjusted without tools using the rotary wheel.
The sealing system of the brake system has also been modified and may only be filled with LV (low viscosity) mineral oil. The advantage of this is the higher performance of the brake across practically all temperature ranges, which means that you can also tackle longer downhill rides in a relaxed manner and pressure point fluctuations are a thing of the past. In addition, the response behavior of the individual components to each other is significantly accelerated.
The proven SM-BH90 hydraulic hose is used for the connection to the brake calliper. It is flexible enough to negotiate even tighter radii, but also transmits all deceleration commands without loss.
The power of the brake calliper is not visible from the outside. Its filigree appearance blends in perfectly with any frame, yet the 4 pistons apply the brakes mercilessly and bring you to a safe stop in any riding situation. Revised Brake Pads bring calm to the system and prevent annoying rattling even on bumpy roads. With their cooling fins, together with the design of the caliper and the high-quality aluminum, they guarantee rapid heat dissipation under continuous use.
